Hakim Mohammed Said responded to the call of the newly independent Pakistan after the end of British rule. Despite the challenges posed by a nascent nation and limited resources, his unwavering dedication fueled his determination to overcome all obstacles.
His life was a testament to selfless service.
In Pakistan, he became a source of joy for many.
Using his innate talents, Hakim Said transformed Hamdard in Pakistan from two small rented rooms with some rented furniture to the level of a major Eastern medicine industry. In 1953, he converted Hamdard into a Waqf (Islamic irrevocable trust) in which almost all profits were handed over to the trust for use in developing health, education and similar nation-building philanthropic fields. By 1985, the entire profits of Hamdard Pakistan were given to the trust. The Hamdard Foundation Pakistan was created to manage these funds.
Hakim Mohammed Said believed that he could not build his own future without helping others build theirs.
Hakim Mohammed Said was martyred in 1998. Now the stewardship of Hamdard Pakistan is held by Ms. Sadia Rashid, daughter of the late Shaheed Hakim Mohammed Said, and her daughters.
